Designer words:”The women silhouette is the most important in my work… And I love to do beautiful things, fashion world is my life, and if you ask me what I would like to be if I was not in fashion designing, the answer will be: a want to work for the most important creature on earth: the woman. ”
Mozambican designer Taibo Bacar uses gorgeous Capulana fabric for his elegant Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. Capulana is a length of printed cloth worn in Mozambique, similar to a sarong. A capulana is often worn by women, either wrapped around the chest or waist or it tailored into outfits. Sometimes it is used to carry babies or a headscarf. Depending on where you are on the continent you may know Capulana as a kanga, chitenge, zambia, or kitenge.
